A weekend for vocal coaches, speech and language therapists, singers and voice professional researchers exploring different approaches to extreme voicing from around the world.

The Anatomy and Physiology of Rough Vocal Effects: Mathias Aaen
Mathias is a certified CVT Instructor and an Industrial Postdoc researcher who has a P.hD., and MA CC and a BA MMC as well as having done a Fulbright Fellowship as a visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, California.
Rough Vocal Effects in Practice: A Master class with Cathrine Sadolin
Cathrine is an internationally renowned vocal coach and researcher, Author of ‘Complete Vocal Technique’ and founder of the Complete Vocal Institute. In this master class, Cathrine will work with three singers. This is an opportunity to observe CVT in action from its creator.

- What we typically see in the Voice Clinic when things go wrong and different management options. Tony Aymat (ENT Surgeon, Lewisham Hospital), Tori Burnay (Voice Specialist SLT, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust).
- Finding Ease in vocal extremes on stage and screen – Barbara Houseman, Voice and Acting Coach and Director UK
Barbara will talk about her experience on Jesus Christ Superstar, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Equus and working at Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park in relation to vocal extremes and how this translates onto screen. She will also be working with an actor.
- Mal Canto: Overtone vs Overuse – A masterclass with Melissa Cross internationally-renowned Vocal Coach
The Zen of Screaming creator Melissa Cross will work with three singers. Melissa has worked with leading artists such as: Slipknot, Megadeth and Disturbed.
- Getting Tour Ready – Approaches to building stamina and vocal fitness and coping with the rigours of touring in a rock/metal band
A conversation with Kim Chandler (Vocal Coach & Session Singer). Funky ’n Fun creator Kim Chandler has coached the lead singers of British rock/metal bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine and You Me At Six.
- Kim will also be interviewing Rasmus Andersen, lead singer of British heavy metal band Diamond Head
There will be opportunity for lively discussion throughout the day...
