Multidisciplinary Approaches to Performance,
Health and Research in Voice
15th, 16th and 17th July 2010, the Royal Academy of Music, London
In association with the Royal Academy of Music, the BVA successfully ran the biggest event of the BVA's academic year - 'Choice for Voice 2010'. As a multidisciplinary conference, this event attracted many types of voice practitioners: professional voice users, singers, singing teachers, vocal coaches, actors, drama teachers, students, acoustic scientists, speech and language therapists, manual therapists, doctors, ENT surgeons, logopedes and phoniatrists. Despite challenging economic times, the number of delegates was higher than for the first 'Choice for Voice' held in 2008, and more people attended from further afield, for example Australia, Malaysia, India, Greece, Malta, the US, Hong Kong, Israel and Kenya.
"A massive thank you for all the very hard work you all put in for 'Choice for Voice 2010', it looks like the conference was a resounding success. You can all be very proud of yourselves that we have produced another conference worthy of international acclaim and which built beautifully on the success we had with 'Choice for Voice 2008'..."
Sara Harris ('Choice for Voice' Chairperson)
